Family Home Evening

Thanks Grandma Whitworth for bringing this to our kids for Robbie and I to do! Last night for family home evening we made a gingerbread bunny house! What a mess! the icing was to thin and none of the candy would stick so we spent forever blowing on it to try and dry it out a little so the candy would stay in place! I really hate doing things that take so much work but we had fun spending time with the kids and I think they had fun. Next year we will make Grandma do it with them if she decides to give them another one.

Oh what a night

Robbie and I always try to get away every few months for a night just the two of us. Well this time we decided to go to the Alaskan Inn up Ogden canyon. We have been there several times and just love it there. It is up in the mountains, quiet, beautiful! This time was no exception. We dropped the kiddo's off at Robbies parents at around 4 and headed up. We got there at around 6:00 and checked in then went to eat some dinner at the Grey Cliffs Lodge. If you havent ever eaten there you should at least once in your lifetime. It is a charming little house that they have converted into a restraunt. We had Prime rib! The best I have ever had! And they have this oatmeal pie that is sooo good! We ate so much I thought I would be sick! We went back to our cabin and relaxed the rest of the night. Soaked in the oversized jetted tub, watched some tv and just did nothing. SOOOO nice! We started getting the munchies and we were going to go down the cayon and get some snacks but it was sonowing so bad we didnt dare try it so we went to the lodge and got a soda instead since they were cleaned out of all their snacks. I slept great and had a great breakfast from the wonderful cooks at the inn. then we checked out and headed home. It was such a good get away... I needed it with my kids going off track and the busy week I have this week so it was so nice to go! Thanks Rob for always knowing when I really need to get away!

Look at what I can do!

Just a quick brag for myself! We had our ward auction a few weeks ago and I donated cakes. I figured I have taken all these classes I may as well do something with them. So Jason Melton bought them and asked me to make a cake for his wife Sherry that following week. I was excited because I love to do it and I don't really get the chance very often. So this was the result! I think it turned out pretty good!

Thank you Jason for giving me something to do and getting my mind off everything else going on around that time!

Its about time!

Josh has finally lost his tooth! It took forever but it actually happened! It was funny... Kylie actually pulled it out! I can't do the pulling teeth thing! The feeling of the skin tearing and the sound just grosses me out! My mom on the other hand loves doing things like that and was very sad that she didn't get to do it! She has pulled all the rest of them on Kylie to. Maddi has yet to lose any so her time will be coming I am sure!

The morning after he lost it he woke up and was crying because the Tooth Fairy took his tooth but didn't leave him anything, I mean how do you explain that to a kid who had their heart set on waking up to something under his pillow... so I had to call the Tooth Fairy and she(He) told me she couldn't find his tooth and that she would have to come back that night so we searched and found that the tooth had fallen on the floor under his bed that night because he is such a crazy sleeper so we put it on his dresser that night and low and behold the Tooth Fairy came through for him! Lets hope he can lose the other Three up front on top or he will be getting them pulled! Then the tooth Fairy will be broke from paying to get them pulled and then forking out the cash to please Josh! One at a time would be so much better!

AWW how cute!

I just wanted to introduce the newest member of our family to everyone! Her name is Gracie and she is 8 weeks old yesterday! She is a polmranian(?)on the spelling. She has been such a good puppy! No accidents and she sleeps good and hardley barks at all! Such a drastic change from Storm! I know everybody will think I am crazy because I am very vocal about how much I don't like Storm but I decided I am filling a void with Gracie and she does it perfectly! Oh and best of all she does not shed! Yeah!

Just let me cry

Has anybody heard this new song by Hillary Weeks? It is the best! I have to thank my cousin Aubrie for bringing it to me. I mean the day she made me listen to it I wasn't so happy about it because I bawled through the whole thing but it is the exact song to explain exactly how I feel right now in my life! With everything that has happened in the last year, I just have to say sometimes you just need to let me cry! Don't ask when I am going to stop and don't ask why just let me cry! It talks about how to believe everything happens for a reason and I truley believe that it does, even if we don't understand it right now. More than ever in my life I know that the Lord is in charge and he has our best interests in the things he does, and everything does happen for a reason. I am so thankful for the knowledge I have of forever families, if I didn't I don't know if I could make it through losing my uncle and everything else going on in my life right now. I am also so thankful for the Gospel in my life and to have the priesthood readily available to me when it seems like I just can't make it through one more day! I have much to be thankful for!

Seriously!?

Okay I have to just say.... SERIOUSLY!!! Today has been such a bad day! To start things off I woke up late and couldn't remember if Robbie had kissed me goodbye, we flew out of bed and of course the kids took forever to get going! I got downstairs and discovered Robbie had not kissed me goodbye this morning because he was still home! He had fallen asleep in front of the TV! I guess I should start at yesterday afternoon, our furnace has been making really weird noises and so we finally turned it off last night for fear it was going to blow up the house... So I was really cold this morning. Robbie got up about 4:00 am to go turn on the fireplace to get some heat in here, thats where the Robbie was still home thing starts. So the kids finally got out the door and I made a phone call to my brother in law who works for a heating and air company and told him I needed someone to come look at my furnace, well someone came and informed me we needed to buy a new furnace! NOT CHEAP! Then I went to have my car inspected(which was overdue but because of everything that has been going on it was the last thing on my mind) and found out that I needed a new tire! But it did pass after getting that! I told the lady that that was the best news I had had all day and she told me I need to get more good news! SHE WAS RIGHT! To top it all off I think my brakes are going out! I swear we just replaced them! HOPEFULLY TOMORROW IS BETTER!

Yeah Josh!

Josh has been doing Star reading at school for a long time now and Rob and I couldn't understand why because at home he reads so well. We have had arguments with his teacher about it and she keeps getting him tested and is adament that he is not on grade level... Well last week in the midst of planning my uncle Johns funeral I got a phone call from Rob saying the school had called and said that Josh graduated from Star Reading! Yeah! I guess josh finally got sick of doing it and showed the people at the school what Rob and I see at home! I knew You could do it! Love you Joshie!
