I wanted to post this tribute to my uncle John. He was such a great man! A second father to me. I grew up across the street from them and spent all my free time at their house. They were on every family vacation, at every dance recital, every chior concert, everything! He was a huge part of my life and still is! My kids called him Grandpa John. He was killed in a at his work in a fire on Friday February 20, 2009. From talking with his co workers we came to find out that John was really the hero in all this. The story is he was the first one to see the fire and yelled at everyone else to get out of the building they ran and thought that he was right behind them but John was having some health problems and his legs wouldnt move fast, He has been having a hard time walking for a few months, when his co workers realized he wasnt out one of them ran back in to get him, he said he could see where John was but some insulation fell on him and started him on fire, he got disoriented and went out of the building to put the fire on himself out and turned to go back in and was held back from doing so. They couldnt get to John because the fire was burning so hot and so fast. The detective that we spoke to Friday night said that in 16 years of being on the job he had never seen anything like this. The part of the building that was burning started about 12:10 and was totally burned in 15 min. We have been together as a family for a few days and we have had many prayers and blessings and we are very much at peace with what has happened, we know John has very important work to do with his Heavenly Father, and we know there are people on the other side who want their turn to be in his presence but it doesnt make it hurt less or make us not want him here with us. Maddison asked "who is going to play Candy Land with me now?" we told her we would and she said "but you wont let me win". You always won the games with John, He always let you! I will forever miss him and I wish I could have told him I loved him one more time and I wish I could have had one more night to talk to him! He loved his Heavenly Father and you could always feel how much his Heavenly Father loved him back! I honestly can't ever think of a time I heard John complain about anything except the neighbors Dogs pooping in his flowerbeds. He was the Best! He left a huge hole in a lot of lives by his passing away but I know his life filled a lot of empty holes while he was here! I LOVE YOU JOHN!
